Aphex Twin – Rubber Johnny

Posted in Film + Animation, Music on January 19, 2009 by strikethreeuk

This is an ‘interesting’ video directed by Chris Cunningham for Aphex Twin a few years back. I can’t really express it in words, just watch it (preferably with no young children around). Really unique, unsettling stuff.

This version will probably be flagged for inappropriate content on Youtube sooner or later, let me know when it does!

Ice Cream For Free are a cool firm from Berlin. They have quite a unique style, but still manage to look really trendy. This blog always needs more graphic design I think, so here you go . . .

A Late Christmas Present . . .

Posted in Illustration on January 7, 2009 by strikethreeuk

After seeing this tatty poster in The Fighting Cocks in Moseley, the wonderful staff agreed to let me have it! They also have board games to play whilst you sip your beverage, so yourselves get down there.

The poster is an advert for a creative competition held by Visto Brahma beer. I’ve discovered that the illustration is by Dbug, but I can’t seem to find a website for him (or her). Anyway, here it is . . .

Loner

Posted in Illustration, Strike Three on January 7, 2009 by strikethreeuk

I’ve been working on this in my sketchbook, Illustrator and Photoshop this afternoon, but I’m not sure if I like it. I was trying to draw something more ‘real’ than what I usually go for. Give me some feedback!

Robert Bruno

Posted in Architecture on January 6, 2009 by strikethreeuk

For a long time (since 1974 to be precise), sculptor and architect Robert Bruno has been building this insane steel house in Texas. I think the images speak for themselves . . .bruno1

After I got my camera back after it was stolen back in September, I went for a walk in the snow . . .

I’ve realised since putting them up that only two of them have any snow in! Oh well, I think I was just happy to get my camera back!
