Halloween Flyer for Chicks Dig Jerks

Posted in Illustration, Strike Three on September 28, 2010 by strikethreeuk

Not had much time outside the day job(s) in the last few months to get much done. Here’s a much overdue new illustration, with Sleepy (link in the sidebar) handling the type (very well, I might add). Flyer for 2 Halloween-themed nights in Birmingham. Got a couple more projects lined up with him so hopefully it won’t be so long till my next post. See you soon!

DJ Ammo

Just finished a cover for DJ Ammo’s new drum ‘n’ bass mix, available on Soundcloud, and for sale if you hit him up on Facebook. Tried to keep it simple and clean, the opposite of a typical dance music cover (although I fell into the cliche of employing the well overused A/E ligature from Avant Garde). Had some good feedback from it so far, what do you think? Some better resolution shots on my main site.

New pic finished today, beginning to get quite pleased with my recent ones! Drawn by hand, traced in Photoshop, coloured in Painter with tablet, then some more finishing touches in Photoshop again! Phew!

New one. Illustrator and Photoshop. Quite pleased with it! Has anyone else noticed that Illustrator is utterly cack for raster-style effects? I know it’s for vector stuff but why do they include it when a few simple glow and blur effects reduce your Macbook to its knees? Pah.
